welcome to my website, and to my practice! It is an honor to assist, and I hope that you will allow me the opportunity to assist you.
The above list serves as a quick reference, but there is so much more to my experience than I can possibly list. Or write about.
In 1985 I was attending Fullerton College working my way through basic courses - I was uncertain about what I wanted to do career wise, so I kept taking classes. I worked as a waitress to support my self, and became good friends with my coworker food servers - and that is where it all began. A couple of them had husbands who were in Chiropractic college - I had never heard of Chiropractic before - but I got my first Chiropractic adjustment from one of them. The impact it had on me changed me forever, I fell in love with it. On my first adjustment, I instantly felt years of stress and physical restrictions fall away. I felt fantastic, and decided that I wanted to help people with it. I immediately learned massage therapy to get started and quickly became very busy and successful in the field. My clients said (and my patients still do - to my joy)... that I have "magic hands". I quickly got regulars who stayed with me until I moved to Colorado after graduation from Chiropractic College. Some of the clients I worked on had chronic injury and stress related musculoskelatal issues. My strength and good physical condition enabled me to assist even the most "buff" and muscular men, (deep tissue), while my knowledge of need for gentle work enabled me to assist even the most sensitive client. I worked for two years in my practice before attending Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, and partly supported my self with my weekly massage clients.
I attended an acupuncture college during the last six months of my curriculum at LACC, and continued it until I moved to Colorado in 1994. (the '94 earthquake facilitated my relocation..). In Colorado, I completed that element of my education with an extensive course in medical acupuncture and practiced it until my return to California in 2003.
After I graduated from LACC, I became certified in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy. I immediately connected with the therapy, and the instructor said that I was a natural. In the years since then, I have seen hundreds of people benefit and heal from CranioSacral therapy. Words cannot express the level of value it holds. It is an excellent and powerful tool.
And, of course, the several types of chiropractic adjustments enable me to address the patient's style and need. Some patients really love the crunchy kind, while others are nervous about it. And, some patients just only need something subtle - like blocks. Often, I use more than one technique. I LOVE Chiropractic care - it is so very powerful and effective. Along the way, I have done signficant inner work and share now the techniques I use for stress reduction.
This is only part of my history. There is more, and these other elements are intertwined with my work and serve to assist you.
It is hard to believe that all of this started so long ago. And even after over 30 years, I still get excited about my work - my Craft.
